The Vandyke Necklace
The Vandyke Necklace is full of vintage charm. I drew my inspiration from a pattern for Vandyke Edging in The Art of Crocheting published in 1895. This necklace is worn close to the neck and has an adjustable length of 15 to 17 inches. Additionally, it would be quite simple to alter the pattern for shorter or longer lengths.
The Vandyke Necklace pictured here was made using Sinfonia 100% cotton and a size D crochet hook. The pendant is 4” long from the top of the neck to the bottom tip and 4” across at the widest point. A multi-faceted Czech Glass charm is centered in front and catches the light from all angles. Eight helpful photographs assist you as you make up your pattern.
This pattern is copyrighted and for your personal use only. The necklace may be made and given as a gift, but the pattern may not be reproduced for use by others.
I hope you enjoy making The Vandyke Necklace. There are more vintage reproduction patterns on the way. I am committed to updating and preserving these treasures. They are a precious part of our heritage so let’s take them with us into the future!
