The Velveteen Cushions
This pattern was heavily inspired by the story of The Velveteen Rabbit, which reminds us that when we are truly, unabashedly ourselves, we become more genuine and can be loved in the most authentic way. This fable is also a lesson in learning to love others for who they really are, accepting all of the quirks, habits, and flaws that make them unique. The imperfections in us all are where the real magick comes from, after all.
The PDF download comes with directions for both a small and large version of this cushion. The yardage suggestion is calculated for one of each. If you want to make two large cushions instead, you will need an additional skein of each color, approximately 384 additional yards. I used 2 skeins of color B33 and 2 skeins of color B34 from the James C Brett Flutterby Chunky collection to make the sample cushions in the photos, however, any super bulky weight chenille type yarn will work.
