The Vemdalan Hood
Named after a sleepy little Swedish skiing village, the Vemdalen Hood is a fun and playful hooded scarf for keeping warm on the slopes, in the lodge, or anyplace where there is a chill in the air.
The mix and combination of fibers in this pattern makes for a truly unique finished garment.
Finished measurements:
Hood ~ 15” high x 10.5” deep
Scarf ~ 60” long (not including pom poms) x 4” wide
Skill level: advanced beginner/intermediate (grafting required)
Material List:
#6 super bulky weight yarn, preferably wool fur yarn, approx. 88 yards
#4 worsted weight yarn in a neutral color, approx. 300 yards
#4 worsted weight yarn in a contrasting color, approximately 100 yards
US size 11 35” circular needles
US size 15 35” circular needles
US size 19 needle for bind off
Two stitch markers
One button, approx. 1 1/4” in diameter
Pom pom maker, sized to make a 3” diameter pom pom
Darning needle
