The very useful, little skirt is a flattering, wearable little skirt.
It is worked top-down, starting from a folded hem, and it is shaped from waist to hips, and also above the knees. I would call it tulip-shaped. I worked it with a zipper, but if your yarn is elastic enough you might work the skirt in-the-round with no side-opening.
The flounce/ruffle at the bottom adds to the feminine style.

Construction
The skirt is worked top-down, starting from a section worked back and forth until the end of the side-opening, thereafter the skirt is worked in-the-round.

Sizes
Finished hip circumference, after washing and blocking, and worked at gauge: 91/95/100/104/109/113/117/122/127 cm = 36/37.5/38,5&41/43/44.5/46.5/48/50”.

Gauge
27 sts and 38 rows/rounds in stockinette sts = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”

Materials
Yarn: I used the lovely organic, fingering weight merino “BC Garn Semilla fino”, to work the skirt. This yarn comes in balls of 50 gr/1.76 oz and 240 m/262 yards. You need approximately 3/3/4/4/4/5/5/6/6 balls of this specific yarn to work the skirt. Yardage might vary from one knitter to another, and from one brand of yarn to another. I do recommend that you use a yarn fibre that doesn’t grow after using/washing. Needles: a circular needle 3.5 mm/US4, 80 - 100 cm/32 – 40” long. Notions: removable stitch-markers, a zipper, suitable for skirt, 15 cm/6” long, an elastic band, in the length for wearing comfortably around your waist.
