This Knitting with Tiny Humans pattern has all the information you need to make your own set of Villagers. Designed to mimic the popular minimal wooden figures seen in playrooms everywhere, this knitted version has all the simplicity of that timeless minimal design, but with a knitted flair. With nothing but a simple body and head shape these toys can become anything and everything that your own tiny humans could imagine.

You will need:

• 2.75mm circular or double pointed needles
• Approx. 25m of main colour sport weight yarn
• Approx. 10m of contrast colour sport weight yarn
• Toy stuffing
• Stitch markers
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Optional: a small rock or pebble

This is an advanced beginner knitting pattern. It would be helpful to have experience with the following techniques:

• Knitting in the round with magic loop or double pointed needles
• Increasing (using KFB and KLL)
• Decreasing (using K2tog and SSK)

Please note: gauge is not important for this project but you do need to knit very tightly. Cotton yarn is recommended but any sturdy yarn will do. Just be sure to use a smaller needle than your chosen yarn recommends to be sure the stuffing doesn’t peek through.
