The Volvoreta Scarf is extra chunky, which makes it perfect to keep you cozy during colder days! It’s simple enough to be a staple in your closet but interesting enough to be a head-turner with its texture. You don’t need a whole lot of fancy materials or knitting knowledge to do this project, so it is perfect for beginners who might want to pick up a skill or two or advanced knitters looking for a quick and easy project.

Sizing:
The length of the scarf is determined by the number of rows you knit, so you can choose it yourself! There are two recommended lengths, one where you can wrap the scarf around your neck one and another one where you can wrap it twice.

Yarn:
Any bulky/chunky weight yarn. This scarf’s sample uses a wool and acrylic blend for warmth and durability.

I recommend getting approx. 315 m of yarn for a moderate length scarf. For a longer scarf, approx. 475 m.

Gauge:
10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 in) square = 12 sts x 15 rows in stockinette knitted flat with 7 mm (no US equivalent) needles, after blocking

However, this pattern isn’t gauge sensitive since it isn’t a garment and includes instructions to do it with any other gauge.
