Chevron also lends itself quite well to triangle shapes, I found. And honestly, what’s better than a garter stitch triangle shawl?
It’s my two favorite things combined. Yay!

This is a deceivingly simple pattern. No binding off between stripes (which means no picking up in bind-off stitches) and no backwards loop cast on. You will need to know how to cast on (long tail method), knit, knit front/back, slip slip knit, and knit two together.

Wavelength is the perfect pattern to either show off a special yarn or use up scraps in your stash. Each stripe takes a different amount of yardage (and I tell you how to make sure you have enough yards/meters to complete a stripe in the pattern) so it’s great for all the random leftovers you may have. It would also be very pretty in a gradient or mixing a solid with a variegated.

For this pattern you will need two 50g skeins of fingering weight yarn. I used Knit Picks Capretta in Admiral and Platinum. I used size 2 (2.75mm) needles.

The finished shawlette measures 34 inches by 10 inches (86cm by 25cm)

The pattern is also very easy to make larger or smaller depending on how many stripes you add.
