The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. The same is true for a woman’s heart. As we maybe all know, there are other ways as well, but - we are talking about a kitchen accessory here.

This potholder is worked in double knitting, using a sport weight cotton yarn. Using a different yarn will result in a different size, which is not bad at all. A potholder is not an item that needs to fit you.
A short introduction to double knitting is included in the pattern. If you have never used the technique before, you may find it helpful to watch some tutorials. You need to know how to read charts.
After completing the knitted part, there is a crochet border worked around the potholder and a hanging loop, which requires knowledge of basic crochet stitches (written in US crochet terms).

Difficulty level: intermediate (double knitting, working from charts, basic crochet stitches)

Yarn: Steinbach Nizza (100% cotton, 140m/50g; 153yds/1.76oz), 1 ball of each color. Sample used 45m (49yds) of each color.

Needles: 2.5mm/US 1 1/2. You also need a hook in size 3.75mm (F).

Notions: yarn needle

Gauge: 22 stitches/24 rows in doubleknit stockinette = 10cm

Size: 16 x 16 cm (6 1/2 x 6 1/2 in)

Liebe geht durch den Magen. Wie wir vielleicht wissen, macht sie auch noch anderes, aber es geht hier um ein Küchenutensil.

Dieser Topflappen ist doppelt gestrickt aus einer relativ dünnen Baumwolle. Andere Garne werden andere Ergebnisse liefern, was aber nicht weiter tragisch ist, da ein Topflappen nicht etwas ist, das passen muss.
Eine kurze Einführung in die Technik ist in der Anleitung enthalten, wer sie noch nie versucht hat, wird möglicherweise Tutorials hilfreich finden. Solche gibt es in der Anleitung nicht.
Nach Fertigstellung des gestrickten Teils wird rund um den Topflappen eine Häkelborte gearbeitet, auch die Schlaufe zum Aufhängen ist gehäkelt. Dafür muss man einfache Häkelmaschen kennen.

Schierigkeit: mittel (doppelstricken, nach einer Strickschrift arbeiten, einfache Häkelmaschen)

Garn: Steinbach Nizza (100% Baumwolle, LL 140m/50g), 1 Knäuel von jeder Farbe. Verbrauch für das Beispiel: 45m von jeder Farbe.

Nadeln: 2.5mm. Man braucht auch eine 3.5mm Häkelnadel.
