The Weekend Pant is for children 6 months to 5 years. The merino yarn makes for a very soft and cozy fit.

These pants are knit from waist to foot (top-down) with a mix of stockinette and ribbing. Begin by creating a 3-stitch i-cord. Then start knitting the pants: with the waist, knit in the round in ribbing; then insert the i-cord around the waist. The top is then folded down around the i-cord and connected to the pants. The back of the pants is knit in German Short Rows. after which continued in stockinette in the round. The gusset is formed before stitches are divided for the legs. Legs are knit separately in the round while also gradually working decreases. Each leg ends with ribbing, which can be folded over and used to elongate the length – perfect for a growing child.
