The Westside Cowl
I love cowls and playing around with stitches. This time I used the Left Twist stitch from a knitting dictionary dating back to the 70s or possibly the 60s. It is a fairly easy stitch that produces a lovely texture and it works with both plain and variegated yarns.
Skill Level:
Advanced beginner.
Skills needed are casting on, knitting in the round, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, Knitting through the back loop, Left Twist, and binding off.
The pattern is written in a line by line format.
Finished Size:
40cm circumference (but with lots of stretch) x 23cm high, approx.
The finished cowl can be pulled up to your ears, or puddled down below your chin, or pleated. The size will give a comfortable fit for both men and women.
Supplies:
50cm 5mm & 5.5mm circular needles, or size needed to get gauge.
Stitch marker (optional).
Darning needle to sew in ends.
150m, or more, aran weight yarn.
Tension:
18 stitches and 24 rows = 10cm, in stocking stitch.
Yarn used: Rosários 4 Alpaka-Man
Now for the the boring bit.
With respect please do not take credit for the pattern, claim the pattern as your own or sell the pattern. Selling completed cowls is fine but not the pattern or any part of the pattern. If you sell the cowls online please link back to me for pattern credit.
By using this pattern you are agreeing to my terms.
Thank-you and Happy Knitting.
