The Windowpane Vest is a classic slipover with a bold checker pattern twist. It has a slightly oversized, cropped fit with deep armholes and is perfect for any season. Wear it on its own on warmer days as a chic tank or throw it over a top as an extra layer on cooler ones.

The Windowpane Vest is knit in the round from the bottom up. The front and back panels are divided at the armhole and the garment is then knit flat to the shoulder and seamed.

The pattern includes instructions on how to create the windowpane motif or simple horizontal stripes as well as how to customize the length of the garment.

LEVEL
This pattern is perfect for the advanced beginner who knows the basic knit, purl, cast on, and bind off techniques and wants to create their first garment and/or experiment with color blocking.

The Windowpane Vest is designed to have a slightly oversized fit with approx. 2-3 in [5-7.5 cm] of positive ease. For example, if your actual bust measures 32 in [81 cm] circumference, you would choose a size small. Size up if you would like to achieve a more oversized fit or layer the top over another garment. For a closer fit, choose a smaller size.
