The Winter Solstice Dress is a classic ribbed crochet sweater dress worked from side to side. It is super cosy and includes shaping around the hips and neckline for a more fitted look.
Skills
This is a relatively simple pattern which requires working in the back loop only and using chainless foundation rows (written description and a link to a tutorial are included).
The sweater dress is made in 4 separate panels which are seamed together at the end.
Guidance and photo aids are given on the joining process
Sizing
The pattern is written for sizes XS - 3XL and includes a sizing table and schematic to help choosing your size.
Materials
The dress requires approximately 1260 - 2350m Aran or worsted weight yarn depending on the size you select. The pattern gives more specific guidance on meterage by size.
The item you see pictured used 7(7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12) 100g balls of Cascade 220 Aran Yarn in Tutu (shade 9477) (100% wool, 100g = 200m)
You will need a 5mm crochet hook or size needed to meet gauge, and a minimum of 4 place markers to mark the right side of each pattern piece.
Pins, yarn needle and scissors will also be required.
2020 Update: This listing has been updated to offer the PDF pattern which is written for 7 sizes from XS - 3XL. Shaping has been added to the neckline and the sleeve design has been changed in the PDF version. You can find the original 2018 free version of the design, written in size small only (with guidance for adjustments) here: https://doradoes.co.uk/portfolio/the-winter-solstice-dress/
The pattern is written in English using standard US crochet terminology.
