I grew up going to camp during the summer, 15 summers to be exact! In Northeast Ohio, the woods are beautiful, green, and thick. The inspiration for this hat came from the woods at the summer camp where I spent my childhood. The green colorway represents the trees and foliage in nature while the knit and purl texture creates trees all around the hat.

The knit and purl pattern used is simple enough for knitters that are just beginning to knit in the round while still being engaging enough for an experienced knitter. The knitter also has a choice of creating a snug fitting beanie or a beanie that slouches. No matter the type of beanie the knitter chooses to make, the garment will provide warmth and fold to fit easily in a coat pocket.
