The woolly prawn
This is the signature pattern for our rather quirky publication The Woolly Prawn - a knitting and crochet book with a difference aimed at a new generation of knitters and crocheters.
The woolly prawn pattern had to be devised when my daughter and I came up with that name for the book. In fact, creating it was quite a challenge but the finished result went down well and I like to think that there are lots more prawns around now.
The prawn pattern is not for the inexperienced! It is mainly knitted but some of the details are crocheted. However, I’m sure these could be replaced with knitting without too many problems.
Any weight of yarn can be used with the appropriate sized needles and crochet hook - the stitch numbers remain unchanged but the finished prawn will be a completely different size. I have worked them in super-chunky, aran, DK and 4ply using the same pattern.
