This sweater was inspired by a sweater my mother, Wendy, has cherished for 30+ years. It was her favorite sweater as seen by the visible holes and pulls. While thinking I was mending the sweater, she had no idea I was redesigning and knitting a new one. On Christmas Eve, I gave my mom her favorite sweater back and exploded with excitement as I watched her unwrap her new treasure. This was one of my life’s most rewarding moments. To this day, I can see how much the gesture meant, as my mother has not stopped expressing the love for her new sweater. I will always cherish this Christmas memory and hope that “The Worn Out Wendy” brings great joy to you and your family!
