This easy to knit hood/hat with scarf attached is a great project to learn ribbing and knitting in the round. It is also a wonderful way to use up bits of yarn or incorporating your own handspun yarns as the author/designer has here by striping both the hat/hood and the scarf sections with a variety of coordinating fibers.

Using a size 7 needle will produce a looser hood, the size 6 needle listed in the pattern creates a more form fitting hat.

Thinner yarns can be held & knit together to create a warmer hat/hood.
