The Yellowstone Hat
The Yellowstone Hat is quick knit thanks to super bulky yarn. When knit with contrasting yarn the diamond mosaic pattern pops and creates a unique eye catching hat. This will be popular design at markets and for custom orders because the colors can be customized to each wearer.
Enjoy countless color combinations and never get bored of knitting this one!
Fits ages 7-100
Gauge is adjusted by increasing or decreasing the number of rows of the brim depending on how tight you knit. The height of the hat should be 9 1/2 inches total.
My patterns are full of tips for where to get poms and where I get my leather/wood tags and an unconventional stitch marker recommendation that eliminates constantly misplacing them.
Colorwork makes this an advanced beginner skill level pattern, but I include a YouTube link so you can see how easy it is to work with two different colors. Don’t let that intimidate you from trying this hat. This is a great pattern for making that jump and learning a new skill. Many of my pattern testers considered themselves beginners and for at least one this was their first time working with multiple colors and they were all successful at it.
Includes an option to decrease with DPN’s or without if you prefer.
My specialty is picking colors for hats and I made sure to list the yarn colors/brands of the nine hats shown in the pattern.
Like many of my other colorwork hats I include a worksheet so you can view the whole pattern online and only print one page once you have a good grasp of the pattern to save on paper/juggling multiple pages while you knit.
Coloring Sheet included so you can plot out your color ideas.
Last, but not least, a ** chart is included** at the end of the pattern if you prefer to follow a graph instead.
