A FAIR SHAWL
Themis is a romantic and delicate lace shawl that alternates between plain stockinette, ordinary lace (with lace stitches on one side) and true lace (with lace stitches on both sides). If you have never tried true lace before, this is a simple enough pattern to try it out!

The pattern starts with a body knit top-down, and then continues with a sideways knit-on lace border that creates a beautiful wavy edge with rounded tips. All increases are done along the upper edge, with two new stitches on each wrong-side row and four new stitches on each right-side row. Only a few stitches have to be bound off in the end.

Themis is made for 2-ply wool yarn from the Swedish company Ullcentrum, but it is easy to adapt and works well with any sport-weight yarn. Ullcentrum was established in 1998 and produces yarn and other wool products from only Swedish wool, from breeds such as finewool and Gotland sheep.
