My mind has been thinking of
The blossoms of spring

While Autumn is my favorite season, Spring comes in a close second. Spring, symbolizing renewal, joy, and hope certainly evokes the same feelings within me after a long, cold winter. This shawl is worked in an all-over leaf lace stitch finished with a squishy garter stitch border, all in a swooping crescent silhouette. Pair it up with a lively, bright (and for extra points, green) color way and you’ll be wearing Spring on your shoulders.

But maybe this shawl is more than a physical representation of Spring. Perhaps it can also serve as a reminder that after the deep winters of our lives, like the seasons of the planet, then comes Spring.

Needle: US size 6 (4mm), 32” (80cm) circular needle. A long circular needle is recommended in order to accommodate the large number of stitches.
Yarns Used: Circus Tonic Handmade, Gala Fingering (Fingering / 4 ply; 100% Merino; 383 yards / 100 grams). 2 skeins of the color way “Arctic Warbler“ were used.
Yardage: 570 - 650 yards / 520 - 600 meters
Gauge (blocked): 24 sts and 28 rows = 4” (10cm) in lace pattern.
22sts and 40 rows = 4 “ (10cm) in Garter Stitch. Gauge is not crucial to this project, but varying gauges will result in different yardages and final measurements.
Other Notions: Stitch markers, darning needle.

Pattern has been tech edited and test knit for errors and clarity. Pattern also includes written and charted instructions, schematic, stitch counts for every row and a video tutorial on the CDD stitch.
