Thenar thumb mittens
Like interesting mitten thumbs? This pattern can also be bought as part of the Fun Thumbs ebook, with 3 novel thumb constructions that I have cooked up especially.
These mittens come in a range of sizes to suit most requirements AND feature a novel and rather lovely thumb construction. It is worked in the round completely top down, including the thumb, and the decreases create a thumb that appears from the centre of your palm (as your thumb does anatomically) for extra dexterity in these thick mittens.
thenar: relating to the rounded fleshy part of the hand at the base of the thumb(the ball of the thumb).
Skills assumed:
knit & purl
decreasing/decreasing
knitting in the round
simple cables
Pattern contains
Pattern is fully written out with the decorative panel also charted. Links to tutorials for recommended cast on, how to join the thumb etc.
