  • The right and wrong side of this scarf are not identical (see photos), but the wrong side looks nice as well. Not the quilted diamond pattern of the right side, but still visually appealing.

  • Size (Length): The scarf length for a person of average height is usually at least 60” and for taller people is at least 70”. Following my instructions to a T will give you an teen/adult sized scarf. For a child size, the finished length should be around 36” instead of 60-70”.

  • Gauge: My gauge swatch was 4 sts per 1 inch, but that isn’t so important. You can work this stitch with any gauge; you’ll just have to change the number of stitches you cast on to get the width you desire.

  • Yarn: I had 200g (2 skeins) of Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Bulky on hand for my sample. I have 16g left after knitting the 70” scarf, so it takes a bit less than 2 skeins to complete this pattern if you meet gauge.
