Thick and Thin Cowl
Thick and Thin Cowl is a neck-hugging infinity cowl. It can be worn wrapped double or unwrapped. Thick and Thin Cowl is designed to use two different weights of yarn, fingering (4 ply) and lace (2 ply). It could just as easily be made with thicker weights, but the yarn quantities, needles required, and the finished measurements would be different to those outlined here.
Thick and Thin Cowl features a horizontal ribbed patterning achieved through alternating reverse stocking stitch and stocking stitch, at the same time as alternating the yarn weights giving the cowl its interesting thick and thin texture. The lace weight yarn provides a loose and springy feel and the fingering adds some bulk for warmth.
This pattern is worked in one piece, knitted in the round on circular needles and is suitable for beginners.
