Welcome to my Net Ornament Cover Series! This pattern uses cluster stitches to create an elegant spiral pattern with ease!

This cover takes about 40 yards of thread, and less than an hour to make. I have used a smaller hook than normal for size 10 thread because I want the chain stitches to stay tight. However, if you prefer to use a slightly larger hook it won’t make much difference. The pattern is designed for standard size ball ornaments in the USA which are slightly larger than 2.5” in diameter, or about 8.5” around the widest part. I strongly recommend using plastic ornaments, since blown glass balls can break under the crochet.

This cover makes a beautiful ornament for gifts or to add to your own tree!
