The Chakra System of the body is a system of energy distribution in the body that helps the fluid flow of life and energy throughout the body, for physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Check out this video about the Chakra System and the Mind Body Connection, with Seane Corn.

The Third Eye (ajna) Chakra is located in the center of the forehead, and it acts as one’s center of wisdom, intuition, and spiritual contemplation. It is the highest chakra in the body, allowing for a visionary perspective. It governs self-awareness, higher wisdom, clarity, discernment, imagination, and dreaming. It is symbolized by the color purple/indigo. Its mantra is “I see.”

Welcome to Stacey Namaste Designs. This hat is part of my Knitting for Healing series. Trauma can be defined as “Anything that overwhelms our capacity to cope and leaves us feeling hopeless and helpless,” ~Seane Corn, Yogi and Author. This series was inspired in order to provide choice and control for the maker in size, color scheme, design, and patterning. I hope you have fun, and every time you sit to knit this pattern, you can create a new design of your choosing with yarn and color choices.

This beanie was designed using worsted yarn, Winter Glow Solid from Hobbii. Feel free to choose any yarn that features the purple/indigo colors. The pictured sample uses Purple Plum color 38. This yarn is an incredibly beautiful wool/acrylic mix with an amazing depth of color and a very special glow. Sample used around 70g of the 100g skein with sizes 6 and 7 circular needles. Gauge is 18 sts, 24 rows for 4.” This beanie is knit in the round using circular needles and a cable needle, along with double pointed needles for the crown. This hat fits an average adult head circumference of 16-23” and is 8” long.

Adjustments: If you would like to increase the circumference, you can add additional stitches to the stockinette sections. If you would like to add length, you can continue the brim section to be longer. Play with what works for you.
