Third Uncle
Third Uncle is a top-down sweater with a simple raglan construction.
You will use three colors, and work a different textured stitch with each color.
YARN
BC Garn Loch Lomond (100% organic wool, 150 m / 165 yards / 50 g).
Color A (shown in 23 Dusty Rose): 2 (2-2-3) {3-3-4} skeins, or approximately 230 (260-300-340) {410-440-530} metres / 250 (285-330-370) {450-480-580} yards.
Color B (shown in 18 Erica): 4 (4-4-5) {5-6-6} skeins, or approximately 500 (550-600-660) {730-790-870} metres / 550 (600-660-720) {800-870-950} yards.
Color C (shown in 15 Graphite): 3 (3-3-4) {4-5-5} skeins, or approximately 370 (410-450-500) {560-610-670} metres / 410 (450-500-550) {610-670-730} yards.
NEEDLES AND NOTIONS
4 mm (US 6) circular needle (or size needed
to obtain the gauge) for patterns 1 and 2.
3 mm (US 2.5) circular needle for pattern 3 and ribbing.
Both sizes are needed to work the body
and the sleeves in the round.
Smaller size is also needed for the collar.
Stitch markers.
SIZES AND MEASUREMENTS
1 (2-3-4) {5-6-7}
This garment is designed with 5-8 cm/2-3¼ inches positive ease around the chest.
Bust circumference: 89 (96-102-109) {118-127-135} cm / 35 (37¾-40¼-43) {46½-50-53} inches.
Lower body (underarm to bind-off): 39 (42-44-45) {48-48-51} cm / 15¼ (16½-17¼-17¾) {19-19-20} inches.
Armhole depth: 22 (23-24-25) {26-27-29} cm / 8½ (9-9½-10) {10¼-10½-11½} inches.
Sleeve length: 48 (49-50-50) {51-51-52} cm / 19 (19¼-19¾-19¾) {20-20-20½} inches.
GAUGE
22 stitches × 33 rounds = 10 cm in patterns 1 and 2 worked in the round with larger needles.
22 stitches × 50 rounds = 10 cm in pattern 3 worked in the round with smaller needles.
Please check your gauge after blocking.
