Thirty Seven North
These classic mittens are worked in the round from the bottom up. They feature twisted rib, simple cables, and a traditional thumb gusset shaped with M1R and M1L increases. The pattern is written, but cable charts are included for reference.
Finished Measurements – 7.75” / 20 cm circumference; 9 (9.5)”/ 23 (24) cm length (adjustable)
Yarn – 165 yards (151 meters) Worsted weight yarn.
Sample knit in Woolfolk Far; 100% Merino Wool; 142 yards (130 meters) /50 g skein; Color 27, 2 skeins.
Needles – US size 7 (4.5 mm) double pointed needles.
Gauge – 21 sts and 34 rnds = 4” (10 cm) in Stockinette stitch.
Notions – 5 stitch markers: 1 for BOR, 2 for thumb, 2 for center cable pattern. 2 stitch markers, optional but helpful, to mark purl stitch at center of cable pattern.
