Recently I took a several weeks long break from knitting, my mind being otherwise occupied. I could not concentrate on crafts, even though I missed both the act and the creative part of making up patterns.
Then when the urge to knit finally came back, it came like a raging flood. It took days to actually knit up a dishcloth, I kept having to stop to jot down the next idea, or grab another pair of needles to try a stitch combination.
Amidst these swirling ideas was this little cloth, and with each row I loved it more and more. It is so easy to make, but it has such a classic, polished look; it reminded me of everything I love about knitting and designing.

The pattern is suitable to make up a whole set, with the original version and its inversion, then with the two stitch patterns used separately, to make any housewarming party or baby shower even more special.
And if that is not enough, the size being easily adjustable, one can make a matching baby blanket, table runner, rug or placemat with the same pattern!
