This pattern is based on the nursery rhyme ‘This Little Piggy Went to Market’, one that I remember enjoying as a child!

The pattern is intermediate difficulty - a range of knitting techniques are used, such as K2tog, SSK, SSK, P2tog, M1 and i-cord. Some of the making up is a little tricky, but I have included many photos and diagrams which should be helpful.

The finished pig is small, so much less than 50g of yarn is needed in each colour.

There are two versions of the apron - one which includes a lace trim and another that is purely knitted. I did this because I liked the look of the lace, but I also wanted to add a simpler version.

For the headband, the instructions require you to iron the two pieces to flatten them - I have found that it’s easier to use hair straighteners (if you have them!).

I hope you like this pattern and enjoy knitting it! If you have any problems understanding the pattern, send me a message and I will try to help!
