The colors of the herbaceous thistle plant inspired the name of this piece. The Thistle shawl features one of my favorite stitches: the linen stitch. Working in linen stitch yields a thick fabric reminiscent of weaving. With its dense texture and three-color design, this knit will keep you warm and stylish in the fall and winter months!

Techniques:
Linen stitch (with one, two, and three colors!), increasing, decreasing, colorwork, and i-cord bindoff.

Yarn and Notions:
-Approximately 930 yards/568 grams of worsted weight yarn in
three different colors. MC (330yds/200g), CC1 (270yds/163g),
and CC2 (330yds, 200g).
Suggested yarn: Mrs. Crosby Loves to Play Steamer Trunk (100% superwash merino wool)
• 2 skeins in Crème Fraîche (164yds/100g) for MC
• 2 skeins in Hollywood Cerise (164yds/100g) for CC1
• 2 skeins in Toucan (164yds/100g) for CC2

-US Size 7 (4.5mm) circular needles (at least 24” suggested)
-US Size 8 (5.0mm) circulars or DPNs for the I-cord bind-off
-Tapestry needle and scissors

Gauge:
Approximately 5 stitches/inch in linen stitch (after blocking). Please keep in mind that linen stitch is tighter than standard stockinette or garter stitch.

Finished measurements:
80in/203cm wingspan x 23.5/60cm depth from cast on edge to bottom point.
