Size Differences:
The difference between large and small is that the large has a longer collar and is fuller in the body of the wrap. This makes the large shawl ‘wider’ around the body. The small has a deeper depth but can be shortened, if desired. This makes the small shawl ‘longer’ towards your waist.

The large is only recommended for lace weight or thread.

Post-Block Dimensions (Size 10 thread/lace weight) Large Size Thistle Wrap Project Page:
Inner collar length 44 inches (112 cm)
Length center back 15 inches (38 cm)

Post-Block Dimensions (Size 10 thread/lace weight) Small Size Thistle Wrap Project Page:
Inner collar length 36 inches (91 cm)
Length center back 16 inches (41 cm)

Post-Block Dimensions (fingering weight) small size:
Inner collar length 34.5 inches (88 cm)
Length center back 22 inches (56 cm)

Fiber:
Thread for large version – Size 10, 100% mercerized cotton, 350 yards per ball
2.5 balls = 875 yards

Thread for small version - Size 10, 100% mercerized cotton, 300 yards per ball
2.3 balls = 690 yards (631 meters)
Tip – Most lace weight yarn is the same weight as size 10 thread.

Fingering weight for small version – Wollmeise Superwash, 350m/100g (574yds /150g)
1.75 hanks = 1007 yards (175 g)

Beads (optional):
7 mm plastic faceted round – 96 beads for large, 74 beads for small

Note that one section of this shawl incorporates the Delta Crochet technique.
