Thistle Leaf Pullover comes from the magnificent tapestry known as The Unicorn in Captivity, where the Unicorn lounges amidst mille-fleurs, including a single white thistle just in front of the right side of his fence.

A luscious skein of fingering weight yarn plus just the right amount of interesting lace will give you this lovely small, wide-triangle shawl, perfect for tossing over your shoulders or wrapping around your neck.

The Thistle Leaf Stitch takes leaf lace patterns to the next level—complex yet balanced with an internal logic that will keep you interested. Stitch pattern is stockinette-based, so the lace is worked on the right side only. Relax, and purl back those wrong-side rows.

Julie Asselin’s lovely single-ply Milis, hand-dyed in the Confiture colorway, makes an extra-special shawl, but any fingering weight yarn will wrap you up in the beauty of thistle leaves.
