Thistle Thicket is a circular yoke pullover seamlessly knitted from the top-down. The yoke is constructed with two-color stranded colorwork and following this, raglan shaping to help the bottom of the yoke sit more comfortably against the underarm, and finally short row shaping to lower the front of the neckline to sit more comfortably. The colorwork is carefully constructed to minimize float catching as much as possible. Instructions for the colorwork are both written and charted.

Thistle Thicket includes 10 sizes with a finished chest circumference of 34” to 70” (86.5 to 178 cm). This pattern also features gender-inclusive sizing. For each of these 10 sizes, two sizes are graded based on shoulder widths, which is one of the primary ways bodies proportionally vary for those with the same chest size.

Choose to make the Narrow Shoulder size if you find that the shoulders on womenswear garments fit you well or the shoulders of menswear garments are too wide. Choose to make the Broad Shoulder size if you find that the shoulders on menswear garments fit or the shoulders on womenswear garments are too narrow. If you are in between, choose the Shoulder sizing that is closest to your body’s cross back width listed in the schematics for the pattern.

There are several modifications for this sweater included in the pattern including 1) an easy to adapt recipe for bust darts to add length to the front of the sweater for those with large differences between their full chest and upper chest, 2) instructions for full length and cropped length sweaters, 3) optional waist decreases to give a vintage “puffed” look to the body of the sweater (seen in all of the sample pics), and 4) two sets of instructions for full sleeve lengths to help you achieve a perfect full sleeve.

This pattern is tech edited and tested.
