Thog Cowl
Knit Thog Cowl at any gauge, in any reasonable yarn, or use the .PDF’s sockweight-specific instructions to knit a bandanna scarf like the sample shown.
Thog Cowl is a nice, relaxed bandanna cowl, knit both flat and in the round. The design minimizes purling while maintaining textural interest, and you can knit this project in any yarn-weight—or make one like the sample with just half a skein of Malabrigo Yarn Sock.
The sample is shown in the Ochre colorway. The .PDF is written with sock yarn in mind and includes gauge and yardage for the sample shown, but customization should be easy.
Materials:
- 220 yards or about .5 skeins of Malabrigo Yarn Sock, or similar sockweight yarn.
- 1 24” circular needle in US3-4/3.25-3.5mm, or size needed for gauge.
- Tapestry needle
- 2 removable stitch markers
Gauge:
Gauge is 24 sts and 54 rows over 4”/10cm of blocked garter stitch, worked flat. Please be sure to check your gauge! (Actually. I mean. This doesn’t matter. This cowl is based on measurements. It’s meant to be knit in any practical weight. Do not sweat the gauge too much, I guess.)
