Bias, slightly asymmetric shaping and easy stitch work create interesting, textural striping. Shawl looks great worked in summery, crisp linen blend yarns, but is equally suited to lightweight wool and wool blends.

This pattern has been professionally tech edited and test knit to reduce the potential for error.

CONSTRUCTION

Shawl is worked on the bias starting at the right tip and ending at the left edge.

Gauge is not crucial, but if not adhered to, can have a substantial impact on the amount of yarn required to complete the project. Please be sure you allow enough yarn for variances in gauge.

The pattern is fully charted, but also includes complete written directions so the ability to read a chart is not necessary to work this pattern. Includes complete row by row stitch counts.

Blocking is especially essential for a successful finished project with this pattern. An aggressive blocking will really open up the textured stitches, giving them a light, airy appearance.

YARN NOTES

A fingering weight yarn with good stitch definition and little to no halo is recommended. Slight tonals work well, but highly variegated yarn will distract from the textural pattern. Although sample is knit in a linen blend yarn, as noted above, this shawl is suited to wool and wool blends as well.
