The Thorndale Pullover has an easy, boxy shape that is flattering to all body types. A simple but bold section of color work gives a retro nod to ski sweaters from the past.

The body is worked flat in pieces, the shoulders are joined using 3-needle bind off, then the sleeves are sewn to the body, and the body and sleeves are seamed. The front neck is shaped with short rows using your preferred method.

The directions for the sweater are written; the color work for both the body and the sleeves is charted only.

The finished chest measurement is 40.75 (44.5, 48, 51.5, 55)“ and is intended to be worn with 5-10” of ease. The photo shows size XS (40.75” chest) worn with 8.75” of ease.

You will need

  • 1000 (1200, 1440, 1725, 2072) yards of worsted weight yarn in Color A, and 80 (90, 100, 110, 120) yards of Color B. The sample shown is in Superwash Highland Worsted by Cloudborn Fibers, Shaela Heather (Color A) and Cardinal (Color B).
  • US size 7 (4.5mm) needles for the body and sleeves, or size needed to obtain gauge.
  • US size 6 (4mm) needles for the ribbing, or one size smaller than gauge.
  • Extra gauge needle for 3-needle bind off
  • Removable stitch markers
  • Stitch holders or waste yarn
  • Yarn needle
