Thornfield Shawl
Thornfield”
This pattern has been designed around yarns dyed by ‘Family Tree Yarns’, monthly book club.
This month was ‘Jane Eyre’ and using two skeins dyed in colours inspired by the book this design has been born.
One of the skeins is called Mr Rochester and the other The Plain Governess. I have used the Mr Rochester to create a solid pattern within the shawl and then used the Jane colourway to add a feminine lacy pattern that grows through the shawl entwining both characters together.
Its name comes from Mr Rochesters’ home, Thornfield Hall where their story of love and friendship begins.
The pattern uses 200g of fingering/4ply yarn approx. 730m so is easily created using whatever you have in your stash, and I look forward to seeing it created also in yarns of the same colour.
Its worked from the top down and finished with a slight ruffle edge to add interest to the finishing border.
