Magnolia - (Jacob, with ruffled edge) is similar to Mrs. Montague’s stitch pattern. The magnolia is one of the first harbingers of spring every year. It has large elegant blossoms which needed a stitch pattern that did not feel tiny. The ruffled edge is meant to charm with a touch of whimsy.

Gauge: In lace knitting this is critical only as it applies to the dressed laciness of the fabric, unless you are knitting a garment with shaping. For shawls, stoles and scarves, what is most important is the finished effect of the lace. You may need to knit more than one swatch to get a feel for what size needle the yarn likes to be knit at for that particular stitch pattern.

Materials: 2/8 weight (fingering weight yarn, amount varies weight scarf and desired length. 3 oz. Will be sufficient for each style.
