Three Movie Mittens is a simple fingerless mitten pattern, knitted in the round. You can knit this pattern in a few hours. In fact, in approximately the time it takes to watch three movies. So it’s a quick and easy pattern. It has sizes for teens, women and men.

Three Movie Mittens uses simple stocking stitch together with garter stitch at the cuff and finger edges. The thumb section is shaped to fit snuggly. It requires basic knowledge of knitting in the round and simple increases and decreases. Suitable for advanced beginners.

My Three Movie Mittens were made with 100% wool, homespun and hand dyed (176m/192yd per 100g). Although, any DK or light worsted weight yarn (9–10 wraps pre inch) can be used. 


Gauge is 18 stitches and 30 rows = 10 x 10cm (4 x 4”), in stocking stitch on 4mm needles.

The Mittens should fit snuggly with a small amount of negative ease.

4 mm circular or double pointed needles (DPNs). Or size to obtain gauge. Using a longer circular needle and magic loop technique is recommended.
