The Three Oranges supermarket bag is knitted in stockinette stitch, and worked in the round using various colorwork techniques, mostly intarsia. The pattern includes three contrasting colors—for the oranges, their shadows, and leaves—against a base color used for the body of the bag.
Its structure is inspired by the familiar plastic shopping bag found in stores. Although the bag is worked in the round, the intarsia colorwork requires specific planning. To guide you, an intarsia map is included, indicating where to turn your work and the direction of knitting. And it has schematic diagrams for better communication.
