The Three Pocket Pouch is a simple felting project appropriate for beginning knitters or those who want to experiment with felting their knitting. The pouch is ideal for holding an android/iphone in one pocket, while credit cards or cash can be slipped in to the other pockets. The front pocket is secured with a buttonhole closure. The flap can be secured by pulling the elastic loop over the button.

This one skein project is knit flat in one piece. Techniques one needs to know are casting on (long tail, knit cast on or cable cast on), knit, purl, p2tog, k2tog, binding off, backwards loop cast on, icord (optional). The pouch is fashioned through folds and seams are simply stitched. There is an optional icord strap. Knit large, the project is then tossed in the washing machine for the felting process, which creates a thick, tight fabric.

While gauge is given, gauge is not critical for this project. However, a significantly different gauge could require more yarn. At the stated gauge, the majority of the yarn is used for the bag and the remaining yarn can be used for an icord strap. If you want a long shoulder strap, an additional, partial, skein will be necessary.

Yarn substitutions: I used Karaoke, I find it felts wonderfully and in a reliable manner. However, any worsted wool (that is not superwash) can be used.
