Three Steps Petticoat Details:
Construction: Worked flat; back and forth in rows from bottom up following full written line-by-line instructions, beginning with step one: a picot hemline along with an eyelet ridge pattern on through to step two: for the main body featuring a granite relief stitch pattern and flattering lines with shaping incorporated, with the final process of step three: working the waist band and finishing with a center back seam and single button-loop closure
Step 3 Dress Bodice Details:
Construction: Work the original Three Steps Petticoat as dictated from Step One on to Main Body of Step Two through to row 11 of the Flattering Lines Stitch in step two continued (page 5 of Three Steps), stopping before main body shaping. The pattern will then follow the first 8 rows of the shaping as per the original (re written) and continue with Step Three of working a waist detail and on to the Lace Stitched Bodice with seed stitch back button closure.
Skill Level: Easy - Intermediate
Project uses a mixture of eyelet textured stitch patterns with simple shaping and finishing
Knitting Needles: Pair of 3.25mm (US 3) throughout
Materials: 135 – 160 yards (36-45 grams) of Fine # 2 weight or Sport/DK equivalent. Dress: An additional 85 yards will be needed
Gauge: Using 3.25mm needles 7sts and 8 rows in 1 inch over stockinette stitch
Notions: 1 Button size 10mm-11mm (used for back button-loop closure, or 4 Buttons for Dress Bodice back button closure. Darning Needle
