The Three Wishes Baby Blanket is a simple blanket knitting pattern that uses 3 colors of aran or worsted weight yarn. There is a 14 row repeat which creates a striping effect. The right side is knit while the back is knit and purled. The blanket is a basket weave striped design that is modern and stylish and perfect for keeping babies warm!

Several sizes including stroller, baby, small, medium and large are included in the pattern. Also there is a pattern for the matching hat in 3 sizes!

Recommended needle size is US 8 with a 24” or 32” cord.

Using worsted or aran weight yarn and assuming a gauge of 4.5 stitches to the inch, this blanket uses 3 colors for a total of:

Stroller: 400 yards for 22 x 28
Baby: 700 yards for 28 x 36
Small: 1000 yards for 34 x 40
Medium: 1300 yards for 36 x 46
Large: 1600 yards 42 x 50

For example, if knitting the Baby size, you would choose three colors, and will use approximately 230 yards for each color (700/3).

You will need to know how to knit, purl, cast on and bind off.
