Thrianta
Soft angora and purls in colorwork make this a bohus inspired hat.
Construction Notes
Thrianta is knit from the turned hem up through the crown. The process is simple and all the fun is in the colorwork charts. I think this hat is a great candidate for one of those faux fur pompoms!
Gauge
24 sts and 34 rows in 4”/ 10 cm square in stranded pattern
Needles and Notions
US 4 / 3.5mm needles OR size needed to obtain gauge
tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Yarn Notes
Sunday Knits yarns are available in 50g and 20g skeins. This hat can be made with one 50g skein of the MC and one 20g skein each for CC1-CC5. If you are subbing yarns you’ll need:
MC: 122 (143, 172, 195) yds
CC1: 40 (45, 60, 65) yds
CC2 & CC3: 42 (46, 51, 55) yds
CC4: 34 (38, 42, 45) yds
CC5: 15 (17, 19, 20) yds
CC3-5 are various shades of red. If you prefer you can use just one yarn for all these and you’ll need approx. 91 (101, 112, 120) yds total. You will also need approx. 50 yds extra if you’re making a pompom.
