The origins of this cowl began with two amazing hand-dyed yarns – Atoll (Day) and Atoll (Night) from DyeDeliciously. I needed to use up the remaining yarn of each colour after having used a portion of each in the two other cowls in this series. I needed a design that that really popped; this Renaissance motif seemed to be the thing. There are 3 cowl patterns in this series – this is the third. Thrilege means “worked in threes” in Old English.

Yarn Used
Main Colour (MC) Estelle Worsted 200 m / 100 g (219 yds / 3.5 oz), 1 ball. Colour Q61215
Sunflower. Any currently available Worsted (#4) yarn with similar yardage may be substituted.
Contrast Colour 1 (CC) DyeDeliciously Superwash Merino 200 m / 100 g (220 yds / 3.5 oz), 1
ball. Colour Atoll (Night). Any currently available Worsted (#4) yarn with similar yardage may
be substituted.
Contrast Colour 2 (CC) DyeDeliciously Superwash Merino 200 m / 100 g (220 yds / 3.5 oz), 1
ball. Colour Atoll (Day). Any currently available Worsted (#4) yarn with similar yardage may be
substituted.
Note regarding 2 contrast colour yarns: I used 2 complementary contrast colours in order to
use up leftover hand-dyed yarn. Contrast colour could be one single colour, if desired. Pattern
is written as if only one contrast yarn is being used; if using two contrast yarns (as I did for my
version) alternate the two contrast colours every round.

Needles - US 8 (5 mm) circular, 22″ / 56 cm long, or size needed to obtain gauge

Notions - Stitch markers, tapestry needle
