Throwback Hat
A fun graphic hat knit in the Armenian style!
Armenian knitting creates a beautiful thick, tweedy fabric that has the appearance of intarsia knit in the round! This technique of carrying both colors throughout the hat and “trapping” the unused color is a great way to avoid having to work intarsia flat and then seam it. Not having to purl is the added bonus! Of course, if you want to skip the technique, you can just use the chart as a guide for duplicate stitching the design on. You could also work the hat flat and use the traditional intarsia technique.
For those interested in the Armenian technique, check out this video from Eunny Jang and Interweave!
