Thrumby
Thrumby is a hug in knitting format. There’s nothing cushier than immersing your foot into a fully thrummed wool bootie. Any friend or family member that lives in a cooler climate will feel cozy and cared for in a pair of these slippers.
Good thing this pattern is sized for everyone! From the list below, choose a size with a finished length that is ~1-1½”/ 2.5-4cm shorter than the actual length of the wearer’s foot.
Size A – Baby (3¾”/ 9.5cm)
Size B – Extra Small Child (4½”/ 11.5cm)
Size C – Small Child (4¾”/ 12cm)
Size D – Medium Child (5½”/ 14cm)
Size E – Large Child/ Extra Small Woman (6¼”/ 16cm)
Size F – Small Woman (7”/ 18cm)
Size G – Medium Woman (7¾”/ 19.5cm)
Size H – Large Woman/ Small Man (8½”/ 21.5cm)
Size I – XL Woman/ Medium Man (9¼”/ 23.5cm)*
Size J – Large Man (9¼”/ 23.5cm)*
Size K – Extra Large Man (10”/ 25.5cm)
Size L – Extra, Extra Large Man (10¾”/ 27.5cm)
- Although the length of size J is the same as size I, size J is wider and will therefore accommodate a larger foot.
The slipper takes shape by working the sole “flat,” picking up stitches around the sole, joining in the round, knitting the sides, shaping the top of the foot with short rows, working the ankle area, and finishing with an i-cord cuff.
