The hat is knitted in the round. Lace edging is optional extra and sewn in place at the end.

Errata: after the crown is finished, place the provisional sts onto a working needle for the brim, 94 sts.
With RS facing work one round increasing as follows:
( M1, k2) 22 times, ( M1, k1 ) 5 times, ( M1, k2) 22 times, M1, k1. 144 sts.

Knit one round.

Continue as in pattern from Round 1 of the brim shaping.
