Thumbs Up Mittens
If you would like to be the first to hear about new pattern releases, get special subscriber only discounts, and generally keep in touch with Knitwise Design, you may want to sign up for my newsletter: News and Notes from Knitwise Design.
Here are some mittens that are a little different - with thumbs that rise straight and true right from the cast-on edge. Gusset stitches grow out of the hand stitches on both sides of the thumb, making an ambidextrous pair. Stranded knitting technique and aran weight yarn combine to make some seriously warm mittens. These are quick to knit in four sizes for the whole family.
This pattern is appropriate for intermediate knitters with some experience working stranded knitting in the round. Dpns or Magic loop technique could be used as you prefer. The pattern is 3 pages long and has been test knit and professionally tech edited to be clear and free of errors.
