This cropped wrap cardigan is designed to envelop you in the comfort of your favorite colors, textures, and yarns to weather the storm. This unique sweater is knit side-to-side with completely seamless construction, making it the perfect canvas for color play! Knit using your scraps, mini skeins, and stash skeins of fingering and DK weight yarn, and marl for a fun exploration of color.

Yarn Required
This sweater is designed to be the perfect palette for marling and color play, allowing you to use up scraps, mini skeins, and stash skeins. You can use one strand of DK weight, two strands of fingering weight held together, a strand of fingering weight and a strand of lace weight mohair, whatever inspires you! Keeping this in mind, I recommend collecting a color palette in the following amounts, corresponding to your size, rather than offering yardage amounts, as those can be difficult to measure when using scraps.

Deep Neckline Variation
250 (350, 450, 550, 650)(750, 850, 950, 1050, 1150) grams
To knit the Higher Neckline, plan for between 100 and 300 g of additional yarn

21 sts and 40 rows = 4” / 10 cm in garter stitch worked flat, taken after blocking.

Color Management
The right side and the left side of ThunderCardi are constructed independently of each other, so if you prefer to keep your project symmetrical, working each side in tandem with two sets of needles will be your best option. However, if you prefer to keep it fun and spontaneous, work each side separately, maybe with entirely different color palettes! The possibilities are endless.

If you have never marled a project before, try choosing one base color to stick with throughout the whole body of the garment, and add in fun mini skeins and scraps as the second strand. This will make your overall project more cohesive. There are no guidelines for color use throughout this project, so have fun and be inspired!

Size US 7 / 4.5 mm 32” / 80 cm circular for working Body.
Size US 7 / 4.5 mm needles in your preferred method of small circumference knitting for Sleeves.
Adjust needle size as necessary to match gauge.
Tapestry/darning needle
Stitch markers (2 ring, 2 optional locking)
Smooth waste yarn or stitch holders
Cable needle or spare gauge-size DPN for three-needle bind off
