This hat is worked from brim to crown, using your preferred method of small circumference knitting. The design features a short chevron section that boasts thick bobbles and a textured ribbing section that makes up the body.

Finished circumference: 16 (18) in / 41 (46) cm un-stretched. 18 (20) in / 46 (50) cm stretched.

Choose the size that gives you the desired fit; the smaller size will fit more like a skullcap or beanie. Larger size will fit more like a toque, and can be blocked accordingly to create extra slouchiness if desired.

Brooklyn Tweed Quarry (Targhee-Columbia wool; 200 yds / 182 m per 100 g)

or Approx. 160-200 yards/ 146-183 meters chunky weight yarn.

5.0 mm / US 8 (or needle size to obtain gauge)
5.5 mm / US 9 (or needle size to obtain gauge)

This pattern is worked best on a 16 in / 40 cm cable, switching to DPNs when necessary, though magic loop or DPNs can be used throughout.

Gauge
16 sts x 20 rounds = 4 x 4 in / 10 x 10 cm (textured ribbing, in the round, post-blocking) on larger needles.
